Our Content Provider the Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece have organised the free exhibition “Lambros Orfanos: Expressions of Engraving” during the celebration of Museum Night 2026, on the 23rd May 2026, from h18:00 to 24:00 EEST, at the Diomedes Mansion, 146 3rd September Street (Athens)
The exhibition highlights the multifaceted engraving work of Lambros Orfanos, a Greek painter and engraver who acted as an executive of the Bank of Greece, and also contributed to the engraving of many Greek banknotes between the 1960s and 1970s.
The collection of exhibits, some of which were donated by his son to the Historical Archive of the National Bank highlights different aspects of the art of engraving as practiced by Mr Orfanos. The exhibition also engages in dialogue with collections and historical archival material preserved over time by the National Bank of Greece.
Guided tours of the exhibition will take place during the opening event, which also includes an exhibition by contemporary artists, and a musical event. You can find the full programme here.
