The General State Archives of Greece contributed by providing digitized archival material to the electronic and printed edition of the collective works of the Panhellenic Association of “Axenoi” Cappadocia, "George Mavrochalivides", with a volume that are now available online as a digital edition:
"The linguistic idiom and historical refutations of Cappadocian Axos", available here
The volume includes scientific papers from two scientific workshops on Axos, Cappadocian village in Central Asia Minor (Thessaloniki 2020 & Giannitsa Pella 2013) and constitutes an important contribution to the study of the language and culture of the Axos Cappadocia, thus enriching our knowledge of Asia Minor Hellenism. Also, the project includes an Addendum of images - documents for Cappadocian Axos. Among the scientific papers there is also part of a glossary which includes words and texts of the "Axenitika", the dialect of the Axos village in Central Minor Asia, which is a variety of Cappadocian Greek dialect. The photographic material is included in the private collections of: Christoforos Zachariadis, Konstantinos Avanidis, Iordana Chatziisaak, Kalliopi Georgiadou, Agne Koliadimou and Christos Helvatzoglou, which have been deposited in the Archive of the Panhellenic Association of “Axenoi” Cappadocia, "G. Mavrochalyvidis". Noteworthy are the documents (digital downloads) of published articles in the newspaper "Παγκαππαδοκική Ηχώ", which were delivered from the personal collection of Mrs. Thalia Triantafyllou. In this e-edition of the volume of the Proceedings of the First Scientific Conference of the Association, apart from the photographs, scattered documents of archival collections with their bibliographic references have been selected, as well as copies of the Codes of the Community of Axos Cappadocia , which belong to the Archive of the Exchangeable Fund, “ Ταμείο Ανταλλαξίμων” (Tameio Antallaximon) of the General State Archives of Greece. Completing the sources of archival and photographic evidence of the volume, we also mention the availability of digital documents for publication of the Archive of Cappadocian Studies of Nea Karvali, Kavala, by the president of the Cappadocian Common, Mr. Kaplanis Iosifidis.
The contribution of all those who contributed to the discovery and disposal of historical data concerning the Greek Orthodox community of Axos in Cappadocia and its wider region was crucial and valuable.
The central narrative of the multiple actions of the Panhellenic Association of “Axenoi” Cappadocia concerns issues of preservation and transmission of Asia Minor Greek culture and the history of the unforgettable homelands, which were the cradle of the refugee population in Greece and abroad.
