We are pleased to announce that the first issue of The Bodleian Library Record Journal published by Liverpool University Press, as the journal of The Bodleian Libraries - one of APEF's content providers -, is out.
First published in 1914 (as The Bodleian Library Quarterly), it fulfils two roles, serving both as a scholarly journal for articles based on research in the Bodleian's collections and those of other Oxford libraries, and as a record of significant developments in the Library. Volume 36, issue 1-2 contains the latest news for readers of the journal, alongside a schedule of exhibitions and reviews from those in the past issue. It also contains a series of articles on amateur musicianship and dance tune collecting, an essay on a Hebrew poem by Edward Burdon addressed to Queen Elizabeth I, and work on records of the Isle of Man at the Bodleian Library, alongside a series of notes and documents on notable items held in the current collection at large.
The first issue under the new publishing agreement is now fully available online at Liverpool University Press. Online access to the archive of the journal is also available for the first time and is available to all Friends of the Bodleian; institutions can also purchase online access in perpetuity via the Bodleian Library Record Archive.
