The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) has launched a new free online training course: "Novice-to-Know Advocacy, as part of the Novice to Know-How learning pathway"
This course has been designed by our Content Provider The National Archives (UK) and is meant to help digital preservation practitioners in communicating the value of their work and building support within their organizations.
Advocacy is often an overlooked part of digital preservation work, yet it is critical to securing resources, influencing decision-making, and ensuring long-term sustainability. This course offers a practical introduction to advocacy, covering how to:
- define goals and understand audiences
- communicate effectively
- build momentum and respond to feedback
- sustain advocacy efforts over time
Learners will create a practical Advocacy Action Plan tailored to their own organization, helping them apply what they have learned in their own context.
