The 2023 APE Research Grants are now available!
The grants are available to anyone wishing to conduct a research or creative project in which primary sources and archival research play a fundamental role. We will support these projects financially and through working hours from APE. Awardees will be asked to volunteer as APE Ambassadors while using the grant (read more about the APE Ambassador Scheme).
The APE Research Grant offers up to 500 EUR to assist scholars with research in those institutions with archival holdings that are APE content providers (that is, institutions that provide material to APE and/or that can be found via our Search in institutions), plus up to 20 hours of in-kind support for their research during the running time of their grant.
There are two deadlines to apply to this grant:
- 15 March 2023 (with any archival trip to be completed by the mid-July 2023)
- 30 June 2023 (with any archival trip to be completed by the end of October 2023)
The APE Creative Grant offers up to 2,000 EUR to assist artists with creative projects that have a strong archival heritage component (including writing, visual arts, performative arts, photography, filmmaking, long-form journalism projects or documentaries, etc), plus up to 20 hours of in-kind support for their research during the running time of their grant. Institutions whose archival holdings are consulted as part of these creative projects will have to be APE content providers (that is, institutions that provide material to APE and/or that can be found via our Search in institutions).
The deadline to apply to this grant is the 1 April 2023 (with any archival trip to be completed by the end of September 2023)
