Lia Carreira and Orestis Georgalas will collaborate with APE for the rest of the year for two new and exciting projects aiming to map data quality and archives in our network.
They were selected amongst an amazing bunch of many qualified candidates and we also want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who took time to apply for these projects and for their interest in Archives Portal Europe.
is an independent researcher, curator and project manager based in Lisbon, Portugal, currently working on the intersections between art, cultural heritage and digital practices and platforms. She runs the Palácio das Belas Artes project in Lisbon (with which she won our 2024 Creative Grant) and she is currently developing a platform that helps to bridge collaborations between EU collection-based institutions and creative practitioners, by identifying key gaps in open data.
Orestis Georgalas holds a BA in International, European and Area Studies (Panteion University, GR), an MA in Global History (The University of Sheffield, UK), and an MA in Digital Humanities (Linnaeus University, SWE). His research and work foci include Digital History, the Cold War, Decolonization and Postcolonialism, Public History, and Digital Archives. He has worked extensively in libraries, archives, and museums in Greece and the United Kingdom, and as an academic editor and proofreader for various projects.
