This course (still in beta version) teaches you what bias is, why it is important, and how to identify and work with it in the context of digital cultural heritage collections. It has been developed in 2024 by the DE-BIAS project, focused on detecting and curating harmful language in the field, promoting a more inclusive and respectful approach.
This course is for cultural heritage professionals, researchers and culture lovers. You will need around 4 hours of your time in total; it consists of several modules which you do not need to complete in one sitting.
The staff members who have designed this course are: Kerstin Arnold (Archives Portal Europe), Cristina Da Milano (ECCOM), Maria Teresa Natale (MUSEU), Jolan Wuyts (Europeana Foundation).
