APE attended History Day in London on the 23rd November, thanks to our mighty ambassador Luke Davis, organised by the School of Advanced Studies and hosted by Senate House Library. Here as his thoughts:
"On 23rd November 2023, I represented Archives Portal Europe at the
annual History Day event in London. This was an excellent opportunity to
spread the word about APE's useful research tools, as well as learn
about lots of interesting historical collections and projects. The day
began with a panel and Q&A session entitled "Discovering Historical
Collections". I introduced APE's search tool, and explained how it can
be used to find a wide range of collections relating to European history
and heritage. I was thrilled to see so many people express their
enthusiasm for the website later in the day, and to hear of how it would
enhance their historical research. The day itself was a hugely
enjoyable experience, meeting lots of history enthusiasts and
researchers and learning about a wide range of collections. Many thanks
to the School of Advanced Study for organising the event and to Senate
House Library for hosting."
