A new online platform, ADAMANT, was published on 29 November 2018 during World Digital Preservation Day. This first version, designed as part of the ADAMANT project, focuses on the management of digital archives. New features, expected for 2019 and 2020, will focus on the public's access to and re-use of digital archives as well as their preservation over time.
Launched in 2015, the ADAMANT project (ADministration of Archives and their Metadata at the National Archives over Time) is part of a vast interdepartmental program for digital archiving within archival institutions of the State in France. It responds to the importance of adapting archiving to new working methods and guaranteeing the authenticity and reliability of archival data with a view to access and dissemination on a large scale.
Within the Ministry of Culture, the project is supported by the National Archives, the Information Systems Branch and the Interministerial Service of the Archives of France. With a budget of 7.55 million euros, ADAMANT has a duration of five years and will end in June 2020.
