It's International Archives Day today, and many of our friends & content providers have organised important activities - here is a quick overview of some of the interesting events from our network: enjoy the day and do something to #EmpoweringArchives !
FRANCE
The interministerial service of the Archives of France (SIAF) and France Archivists Association (AAF) has published the first version of a data model allowing the export of records of entries from archives services. This opens prospects for the generalization of the publication of records of entries in Open Data and their use by specialists in the data, thus contributing to greater transparency in the collection of archives by public services - all information on the registry data model entries are available here (in French)
GREECE
The Hellenic Archival Society (EAE) has organised a short digital discussions on the field of archives and the archival reality in Greece. Today it is possible to follow this discussion on Youtube hosting Ms. Amalia Pappas, Deputy General Manager of the General Archives of the State (in Greek)
The exhibition "Run onto the waves of the formidable sea" exhibition will also debut this week and will be available to physical and digital viewers until March 2022. The theme is the war at sea of the Greeks against the Ottomans in 1821 for Greek independence. This is a collaboration of the General State Archives- Central Service of Athens and the Eugenides foundation - a video presentation is available in Greek on the State Archives' Facebook page here; a description in English is available here
LITHUANIA
The Lithuanian State Archives created a 30' film titled “Areas of memory”, about the activities of the Lithuanian State Archives and of archives in Lithuania in general. A version with English captions is available here We have version with English subtitles available here
LUXEMBOURG
The National Archives of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Archivists’ association have organized an online conference with Dr. Haim Gertner from Yad Vashem - the full programme is available here
A new crowdfunding project has also been launched to annotate the military registry B-0808: people can annotate the documents until the 30 July 2021, first prize is 150€ cash! All information here (in French)
SPAIN
The National Historical Archive will celebrate International Archives Day with the presentation of the Manuel de Falla Archive computerization project, the result of the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Manuel de Falla Archive Foundation and the Manuel de Falla Chair of the University from Granada. The day will be completed with a piano recital and the presentation of the Annual exhibition: the Picasso file and the case against the command that recalls, one hundred years later, the military events that occurred in Melilla.
