Description: Parchment codex consisted of 241 leaves. Leather binding with wooden boards; front and back leaves missing.
The Evangelion contains the following four gospels:
Gospel of Matthew (fol.1r-78v)
Gospel of Mark (fol. 79r-128v)
Gospel of Luke (fol.129r-190r)
Gospel of John (fol.191r-241v)
The Evangelion includes only those Gospel passages that are actually read during liturgy services. The full-page miniature, in colour and gold leaf, is depicting of St.John Theologos standing, dictating to his assistant Prochoros sitting on his right hand side.
Form: Parchment codex
Decoration: The text is written in red and brown ink. Floral illuminated headpiece with geometrical patterns, and a decorated initial for the beginning of each Gospel.
Dimensions in cm: (24,5 x 17 x 7,5cm)

A relief silver later plaque has been attached on the front cover, which presents Jesus Christ holding the Gospel on his left hand and blessing with the right hand, flanked by the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist.
