Records creator's history
This World (i.e. mainly European) Congress, officially convened by the French writers Romain Rolland and Henri Barbusse, but in fact by Willi Münzenberg and his communist front apparatus, was planned to be held in Geneva in July 1932, but took place in Amsterdam in August of that year.

System of arrangement
The last of the 35 folders is an annex consisting of a number of documents relating to the more permanent organisation founded at the Congress, known under various names: Comité Mondial de Lutte contre la Guerre et le Fascisme , Mouvement Amsterdam-(Pleyel), "Paix et Liberté", etc. In the library of the IISH some more printed materials relating to this Congress can be found.
