Our Content Provider Sheffield Archives is organising an online seminar to present the project "Dig Where You Stand", a collaboration between writer and educato Désirée Reynolds, the Writer in Residence at the archives, and archivist Cheryl Bailey. During her residency, Mrs Reynolds launched the local ‘Dig Where You Stand’ project, exploring stories of Black and marginalised people held in the city's archives.
The project questionshow the archive can become a space for social justice; Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Bailey will discuss their experience of discovering Black and marginalised voices, and the impact this has had on the archive and on the city's communities, who have seen their histories elevated for the first time.
