The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe has opened applications for its European Jewish Heritage grant programme:
Do you have a collection relating to the heritage, history or culture of Jewish people in Europe? Do you need help to look after this collection or have plans to create an exhibition around them?
This programme supports projects across Europe which preserve and showcase materials, records, books and objects that tell the story of the Jewish experience throughout history. Whether you’re a museum, archive, library, university, communal organisation or professional institution, funding is available to help care for these collections and create engaging exhibitions for diverse audiences.
Support is available for Collections Management to help ensure collections relating to Jews, Judaism and Jewish history and culture are properly looked after and accessible for research and education. This may include an initial scoping survey, conservation and preservation, inventorying and cataloguing, digitisation, creating digital resources and public programming.
Exhibition Support grants are available for organisations and institutions wishing to create engaging, professional and innovative exhibitions relating to Jewish history and Jewish cultural heritage. This may include revamping or developing a museum’s core exhibition, creating a temporary exhibition of Jewish interest, renting a travelling exhibition or developing a unique idea.
There is also support available for Professional Development opportunities for staff working with Jewish heritage at all levels within an institution.
