Bath Abbey is working in partnership with Bath Preservation Trust and Bath Record Office on a six-month research project aiming to share information on Bath’s links to the transatlantic slave trade and the history of a Black presence in the city, funded through The National Archives Testbed Fund.
Research has been conducted to summarise articles from the Bath Chronicle newspaper which contain subject terms and place names relating to the transatlantic slave trade. The project is now seeking to employ a Historian/Website Content Writer Consultant to contextualise this work by writing text for a website hosting the research and composingguidance on the use of language and description within the articles.
