Eesti NSV Arhitektide Liit
1) ühendada arhitektid ja teised arhitektuuri- ja ehitusalaspetsialistid aktiivsesse tegevusse linnade, asulate, tööstusettevõtete, põllumajandushoonete, elumajade, ühiskondlike ja kultuurilis-elukondlike hoonete projekteerimisel ja ehitamisel;
2) aidata kaasa kapitaalehituse plaanide eduka täitmise, kvaliteedi parandamise, tähtaegade lühendamise ja ehituse maksumuse vähendamiseks;
3) hoolitseda projektide ja ehituste arhitektuurilis-kunstilise ja tehnilise kvaliteedi parandamise, loominguliste ja teaduslike probleemide lahendamise ja kõrgekvaliteediliste tüüpprojektide loomise eest. Seoses sellega igati suurendada arhitektide osa ehituse ja arhitektuuri valdkonnas;
4) igati abistada Arhitektide Liidu liikmeid üldise kultuuritaseme, ideelis-poliitilise enesetäiendamise ja ametialase meisterlikkuse tõstmisel;
5) arendada kriitikat ja enesekriitikat kui meetodit arhitektuuri parandamiseks;
6) organiseerida ja läbi viia konkursse paremate ettepanekute väljaselgitamiseks ja arhitektide loominguliste võistluste arendamiseks;
7) autasustada arhitekte medalite, aukirjade ja preemiatega paremate saavutuste eest;
8) teostada aktiivset loomingulist koostööd inseneride, ehitajate, kunstnike, skulptorite jt spetsialistidega teaduse, tehnika ja kunsti valdkonnas eesmärgiga aidata kaasa arhitektuuri arendamiseks ja mitmekesistamiseks;
9) arhitektuuri ja ehituse alal aidata kaasa kõrgema ja keskerihariduse omandamisele, kõrgema kvalifikatsiooniga ja teaduslike töötajate ettevalmistamisele;
10) populariseerida ja propageerida töötajate hulgas arhitektuurialaseid teadmisi loengute, vestluste, ettekannete, näituste, ekskursioonide, vastava kirjanduse väljaandmise, kino ja diafilmide abil;
11) abistada riiklikke ning ühiskondlikke ettevõtteid ja organisatsioone arhitektuuriliste mälestusmärkide, looduskaitsealade ja teiste kultuuriväärtuste kaitsmisel;
12) arendada arhitektide rahvusvahelisi sidemeid rahu eest võitlemise ja rahvaste vahelise sõbralike sidemete tugevdamiseks, organiseerides süstemaatilisi arhitektuuri ja ehitusalaste kogemuste vahetamist teiste riikide arhitektide ja ehitajate vahel, võtta osa rahvusvahelistest kongressidest, konverentsidest ja konkurssidest.
1951.a. töötasid järgmised sektsioonid: 1) arhitektuuri propageerimise ja kvalifikatsiooni tõstmise sektsioon; 2) mahulise projekteerimise sektsioon; 3) planeerimise sektsioon; 4) kolhooside planeerimise ja hoonestamise sektsioon; 5) noorte kaadrite sektsioon; 6) poliitõppuse kontroll.
1953. Alustas tööd joonistus- ja akvarelliring
1958. Moodustati Arhitektide Liidu Tartu osakond.
1960. 1960.a. seisuga töötasid järgmised sektsioonid ja komisjonid: 1) arhitektuuri teooria sektsioon; 2) mahulise projekteerimise sektsioon; 3) linnaehituse sektsioon; 4) tööstusehituste sektsioon; 5) uue ehitustehnika ning industrialiseerimise sektsioon; 6) haljastusala ning pargiarhitektuuri sektsioon; 7) näituste sektsioon; 8) sisustuse, mööbli ja kodukultuuri sektsioon; 9) klubitöö komisjon; 10) ekskursioonide organiseerimise komisjon; 11) konkursside organiseerimise komisjon; 12) autorikaitse ning personaalküsimuste sektsioon.
1967. 1967.a.seisuga töötasid järgmised sektsioonid ja komisjonid: 1) linnaehituse ja rajooni planeerimise sektsioon; 2) mahulise projekteerimise sektsioon; 3) tööstusarhitektuuri sektsioon; 4) maa-arhitektuuri sektsioon; 5) interjööri ja sisekujunduse sektsioon; 6) haljastus- ja maastikuarhitektuuri sektsioon; 7) kaasaegse arhitektuuri teooria sektsioon; 8) arhitektuuriliste mälestusmärkide ja mineviku arhitektuuri teooria sektsioon; 9) noorte arhitektide sektsioon; 10) klubitöö komisjon, 11) konkursside organiseerimise komisjon.
1984. 1984.a. seisuga töötasid järgmised sektsioonid: 1) arhitektuurimälestiste sektsioon; 2) arhitektuuri teooria ja kriitika, arhitektuuri propaganda ja kirjastustegevuse sektsioon; 3) maastikuarhitektuuri sektsioon; 4) elamuehituse ja ehituse industrialiseerimise sektsioon; 5) ekskursioonide sektsioon; 6) konkursside sektsioon; 7) linnaehituse sektsioon; 8) Maa-arhitektuuri sektsioon; 9) noortesektsioon; 10) sisekujunduse sektsioon; 11) transpordi sektsioon; 12) Tööstusarhitektuuri sektsioon; 13) ühiskondlike hoonete sektsioon. Osakonnad olid Pärnus, Tartus ja Viljandis.
1987. 1987.a. seisuga töötasid 10 loomingulist sektsiooni ja 8 komisjoni. Sektsioonid: 1) arhitektuuriajaloo ja -teooria sektsioon; 2) arhitektuurimälestiste sektsioon; 3) arhitektuuripropaganda, kriitika ja publitsistika sektsioon; 4) elamute ja ühiskondlike hoonete sektsioon; 5) haljastuse ja maastikuarhitektuuri sektsioon; 6) linnaehituse sektsioon; 7) maa-arhitektuuri sektsioon; 8) noortesektsioon; 9) ruumikujunduse sektsioon; 10) tööstusarhitektuuri sektsioon. Komisjonid: 1) arhitektuurikonkursside ja autoriõiguste komisjon; 2) arhitektuurinäituste komisjon; 3) ehitusmaterjalide ja ehituse industraliseerimise komisjon; 4) ekskursioonide komisjon; 5) klubiürituste, tähtpäevade tähistamise ja huvialaringide töökomisjon; 6) külaliste vastuvõtukomisjon; 7) revisjonikomisjon; 8) sõjaväe-šefluskomisjon.
II maailmasõja ajal 1944.a. veebruaris Moskvas moodustasid arhitektid H. Arman, A. Kõuts ja A.Tippel Eesti Nõukogude Arhitektide Liidu orgbüroo. Veidi hiljem liitusid orgbürooga ka L. Haljak ja J. Jomm. Eesti Nõukogude Arhitektide Liidu asutamiskoosolek toimus 10. aprillil 1945 Tallinnas. Liit allus NSVL Arhitektide Liidule. Liidu esimese koosseisu juhatuse esimeheks valiti arhitekt A. Kotli, aastail 1950-1954 oli esimeheks O. Keppe ja alates 1954 kuni 1979 Mart Port.
NSVL MN otsusega nr 4184, 30. oktoobrist 1951 põhjal likvideeriti 1952.a. NSVL Arhitektuurifondi Eesti Vabariiklik Osakond, kusjuures kõik arhitektuurifondile kuuluvad varad ja dokumendid kuulusid üleandmisele Eesti Nõukogude Arhitektide Liidule.
03.09.1955 kinnitati NSVL Arhitektide Liidu põhimäärus, mis sai ka ENSV Arhitektide Liidu tegutsemise aluseks.
NSVL Arhitektide Liidu 19. detsembri 1955.a. protokolli põhjal nimetati 21. märtsist 1956.a. ENSV Nõukogude Arhitektide Liit ENSV Arhitektide Liiduks. Juhatuse koosolekul 07.03.1958.a. võeti vastu otsus moodustada liidu Tartu osakond. Hiljem loodi ka liidu Pärnu ja Viljandi osakonnad.
Liidu liikmete arv kasvas pidevalt, samuti suurenes sektsioonide ja komisjonide arv. Nii tegutses 1979.a. lisaks kahele osakonnale 10 sektsiooni ning 12 komisjoni. 1979-1983 oli liidu esimeheks Voldemar Herkel, 1984–1989 Jüri Jaama.
1987. aasta lõpus oli Arhitektide Liidul 336 liiget, neist valdav enamik Tallinnast.
1. detsembril 1988.a. toimus arhitektide koosolek, kus otsustati taasasutada suveräänne Eesti Arhitektide Liit. 27. juunil 1989 toimuski sõltumatu Eesti Arhitektide Liidu taasasutamine. EAL loeb end asutatuks 08.10.1921 ning seega aastatel 1921-1940 tegutsenud Eesti Arhitektide Ühingu tegevuse ja traditsioonide jätkajaks.
