K. Pätsi ja tema perekonna saatusest pärast 1940. aastat kirjutas pojapoeg Mati Päts 1989. aasta aprillis järgmist:
30.07.1940 küüditati K. Päts koos perekonnaga Moskva kaudu Baškiiria ANSV pealinna Ufaasse. Sinna jäädi kuni Vene-Saksa sõja alguseni. 26.06.1941 K. Päts, tema poeg Viktor Päts ja minia Helgi Päts (sünd. Lattik) arreteeriti. Sellest päevast kaovad Konstantin ja Viktor Pätsi jäljed. On andmeid, et Viktor Päts suri 46-aastasena 04.03.1952 Moskvas. Helgi Päts viibis viis aastat Sverdlovski oblasti Turinski linna vangilaagris ning pöördus Eestisse tagasi 08.07.1946. Konstantin Päts toimetati detsembris 1954 Viljandi lähedal asuvasse Jämejala Psühhoneuroloogia haiglasse. Sama aasta 30. detsembrist jäljed kaovad. Ajapikku selgus, et K. Päts suri 18.01.1956, Suure Nõukogude Entsüklopeedia 21. köite andmeil Kalinini oblastis. Käesolevaks ajaks on teada, et K. Päts viibis alates 01.01.1955 kuni surmani Kalinini oblasti Buraševo Psühhoneuroloogia haiglas ja maeti oletatavasti Buraševo kalmistule.
1990. aastal toimetati Konstantin Pätsi säilmed Buraševo erikalmistult Eestisse ja maeti sama aasta 21. oktoobril ümber Tallinna Metsakalmistule. Tahkurannas, tema sünnitalu asukohas on püstitatud Konstantin Pätsi mälestussammas.
