SSA / 0472 Hambergska stiftelsens historik Hambergska stiftelsen tillkom 1917 genom donation av fröken Ulla Hamberg. Donationens ändamål var i första hand att ”hjälpa små klena barn, som växa upp under fattiga och för deras utveckling och hälsa menliga förhållanden”. Ulla Hambergs önskan var att för dem ”inrätta ett hem, ett verkligt hem, ingen anstalt, beläget på landet, där de genom god vård och en praktisk men enkel uppfostran kunde utvecklas till dugliga och goda människor.” För ändamålet hade testator köpt in egendomen Stadavik, Nykvarn. I andra hand skulle donationen överlämnas till ”redan påbörjade företag till de fattiga och vanlottades hjälp”. I testamentet utses Fredrika-Bremerförbundet att ha visst överinseende över stiftelsen. Stiftelsens styrelse konstituerades i januari 1918 under namnet ”Styrelsen för Hemmet Stadavik”. I november samma år öppnade barnhemmet Stadavik. 1924 lades barnhemmet ner, dels p g a ekonomiska överväganden, dels sedan inställningen att friska barn inte stadigvarande borde uppfostras på barnhem börjat göra sig gällande. Då fastigheten Stadavik visade sig svårsåld, byttes den mot en fastighet på Kungsgatan 59 i Uppsala. Denna fastighet såldes sedermera till Edward Bernhard, styrelsens förste ordförande. Efter viss diskussion fann man en uppgift motsvarande testators intentioner i inrättandet av ett barnhem för tuberkuloshotade barn. För detta ändamål köptes jordbruksfastigheten Sörgården i Kungsberga, Färentuna socken 1925. Området utökades med tiden genom köp av närbelägna områden. Barnhemmet Sörgården öppnades i februari 1925. Det förutsattes att hemmet skulle drivas som det närbelägna barnhemmet Norrgården, d v s i samarbete med Stockholms fattigvårdsnämnds utackorderingsbyrå och tuberkulosbyrå. I samband med att verksamheten lades om, ändrades stiftelsens namn till ”Föreningen Hambergska stiftelsen”. 1928 utvidgades stiftelsens verksamhet genom att man övertog driften av det ovan nämnda Norrgården och utsåg dess föreståndarinna Judit Karlsson till att leda de båda barnhemmen. 1936 respektive 1942 avvecklades Norrgårdens och Sörgårdens barnhem. Behovet av barnhemsplatser för tuberkuloshotade barn hade då minskat. Andra bidragande orsaker till avvecklingen var ekonomiska avväganden och vissa anmärkningar mot barnens vård och fostran. Svenska Seglarförbundet fick 1942 tillstånd att hyra Sörgården för att upprätta en förläggning för finska barn. 1943 - 1944 drev Stockholms stads hjälpkommitté för Finlands och Norges barn samma verksamhet. 1945 - 1972 hyrde Stockholms stads barnavårdsnämnd Sörgården och Norrgården för att driva barnhem. Till en början drevs de som reservbarnhem för Nybodahemmet. Sedermera inordnades dem som upptagningshem i stadens barnhemsplan. Redan 1948 diskuterades att omforma stiftelsen till en ren penningstiftelse på grund av svårigheterna att driva barnhem. Från mitten på 1950-talet fördes det samtal i styrelsen om att genom permutation ändra stiftelsens ändamålsparagraf för att få stiftelsens verksamhet bättre anpassad till samhällsutvecklingen. I februari 1963 gjorde styrelsen en framställan till Kungl. Maj:t om att få ändra testamentets ändamål, vilket beviljades 13 november 1964. Stiftelsens avkastning skulle få användas som bidrag till social omvårdnad av barn och ungdom från Stockholm. 1972 började Föreningen Skyddsvärnet hyra Sörgården och Norrgården. Föreningen hade till uppgift att hjälpa frigivna fångar. I denna förening var Bertil Mogård verksam som ordförande under åren 1936-1962. Erik Norman inträdde i föreningens styrelse 1956 och var sedan ordförande under åren 1962-1972. I samband med permutationen av Hambergska Stiftelsen försökte Mogård och Norman utforma stiftelsens stadgar så att man specialdestinerade stiftelsens avkastning till barn och ungdom till de frigivna fångarnas familjer, något som inte blev fallet. I samband med permutationen 1963 antydde styrelsen möjligheten att sälja delar av stiftelsens fastigheter. Överståthållarämbetet ansåg då att en försäljning bara torde kunna förverkligas med Kungl. Maj:t medgivande. Styrelsen redogjorde i den årliga rapporteringen till länsstyrelsen utförligt för sina planer att genom försäljning av fastigheter förbättra stiftelsens ekonomiska ställning och därigenom öka möjligheterna att hjälpa barn och ungdom. Eftersom länsstyrelsen inte reagerat ansåg sig styrelsen oförhindrad att fullfölja sina försäljningsplaner utan att behöva inhämta någon myndighets medgivande. 1979 förvärvade Föreningen Skyddsvärnet de lokaler de hyrt sedan 1972. Övrig mark, utom skogsmarken och övriga byggnader, fortsatte vara utarrenderade eller uthyrda. Under 1963 och 1964 diskuterades avstyckning av mark för fritidsbebyggelse. Eftersom budet från lantbruksnämnden var oacceptabelt, fick förslaget vila. Trots att den dåliga avkastningen på fastigheterna gjorde det önskvärt att avyttra dem skulle det dröja många år innan så skedde. Pågående diskussioner om olika förbileder för länets trafik, den förväntade marknadsutvecklingen samt behov av mark för bostadsbyggande var skäl till fördröjningen. 1994 anmäls i styrelsen att kommunen skall utarbeta en områdesplan som räknas bli framlagd 1998. Detta år tar ordföranden Einar Mogård kontakt med stadsarkitekten i Ekerö kommun, som ställde sig positiv till viss bebyggelse på stiftelsens mark. Härefter kunde ett aktivt försäljningsarbete påbörjas. 1998 såldes ca 290.000 m2 av Kungsberga 1:34 och 10:8 för en köpeskilling av 10 kr/m2. I början av 1999 anmäldes försäljningen av sista delen av Kungsberga 1:34. Härigenom var försäljningen av fastigheterna på Ekerö slutförd. Genom permutationen har ändamålsparagrafen fått en utformning som lämnar utrymme för en generös bedömning när det gäller att hjälpa och stödja barn och ungdom. Styrelsen har haft som regel att inte bevilja bidrag till ändamål som det åligger stat eller kommun att ombesörja. Behov av snabb hjälp och hjälp till självhjälp har i hög grad beaktats. Likaså har sökande som hamnat i gråzonen mellan olika hjälporgan kunnat hjälpas. Beslut om vilka verksamheter stiftelsen givit stöd återfinns i styrelseprotokollen (serie A1). Mer utförlig information om verksamheterna finns i ansökningarna (serie F 3). Nya stadgar utarbetades och antogs av styrelsen 1980-03-28. Dessa stadgar gäller fortfarande med undantag för § 3 där antalet ledamöter ändrats till högst sju. Fr o m 1996 handhar Handelsbanken, Kungsträdgården, den ekonomiska redovisningen och en del administrativa uppgifter. Övrig administration har under många år skötts inom AB Stockholmshem, eftersom ett flertal tongivande styrelseledamöter varit anställda inom bolaget. I arkivet finns även vad som måste betecknas som ett äldre gårdsarkiv för fastigheten i Kungsberga. Det rör sig framför allt om köpehandlingar, testamenten, utdrag ur domböcker och andra handlingar som styrker rättigheter till fastigheten under 1700- och 1800-talen. Troligen har handlingarna hamnat i stiftelsens ägo i samband med köp av fastigheten på 1920-talet. Dessa handlingar återfinns i volymerna F2:1 och F2:2. 2003-08-19 Sara Naeslund Arkivarie AB Stockholmshem Ovanstående sammanställning bygger på den historik som I Södersteen upprättade i samband med att stora delar av arkivet förtecknades och levererades till Stockholms stadsarkiv 1961. Bengt Westberg har uppdaterat historiken fram till dags dato. Södersteen som för övrigt vid denna tid förtecknat Barnavårdsnämndens omfattande arkiv. Förteckningen är stämplad som inkommen till Stadsarkivet 26/4 1961 med nr 493 och accessionsnummer 9/1961. Mottagandet av arkiv och förteckning är daterat samma dag med påskrift av tf stadsarkivarie Carl-Fredrik Corin. I augusti 2003 inkom till Stadsarkivet en tilläggsleverans (acc.nr 2003:068) och i samband härmed har en ny sammanhållen arkivförteckning byggd på den äldre versionen upprättats av Sara Naeslund. Undertecknad har därefter i aug 2003 gjort några smärre justeringar/tillägg. Genom gåvobrev 2003 06 30 har Hambergska stiftelsen överlåtit hela arkivet till Stadsarkivet. Observera att materialet kan innehålla känsliga uppgifter om enskilda personer ! Historiken över Hambergska stiftelsen från den första förteckningen har kopierats till föreliggande version. I depåexemplaret av arkivförteckningen återfinns även den ursprungliga förteckningen liksom kopia av gåvobrevet med tillhörande överenskommelse.   • Full dates includes normalised date information available for date-based searches. It is recommended to combine this selection with the filters "Start timespan" and "End timespan" for more details.
  • Only descriptive dates provides the date information in human-readable format.
  • No date either includes documents where the creation date is unknown, or where date information is not in a machine-readable format

When searching for a specific date, enter the date in the format DD-MM-YYYY, i.e. 01/01/1900 for 1 January 1900, via the calendar function or by typing directly in the text field.
