Scope and content

Communist's Propaganda lampoon that parodies the Iuliu Maniu bourgeois lifestyle (co-founder of the National Peasants' Party) way of life. Due to his strong opposition, his party was outlawed in July 1947 and he was accused and judged as an act of treason for the attempt of leaving the country (known as Tamadau Affaire, when in 14th of July, Iuliu Maniu and other important members of the National Peasants' Party were trying to leave Romania, but when the day came they were all arrested). He was sentenced to life prison and, given his advanced age, this was similar to a death sentence. He did died in Sighet prison in 1953 and burried in a common grave.
