We’re located within the National Library of Wales building. Follow signs to the RCAHMW Library and Search Room within the National Library. We’re on the first floor (level 0) just before the North Reading Room.

3 wheelchairs are available for visitors’ use; they are located at the ground floor entrance of the building. Contacting the Royal Commission Library and Enquiry Service prior to your visit is recommended, although staff are available during our opening hours if you require assistance. Please contact us on 01970 621 200 or 01970 621 209. There is equipment in the Library and Search Room to aid the use of its resources, including tables which can be raised or lowered as required and magnifiers
When you arrive you’ll be asked to show two forms of ID (showing name and address) or a National Library of Wales Reader’s Ticket. (N.B. you don’t need a NLW Ticket to use the RCAHMW Library and Search Room). We’ll ask you to complete and sign a Visitor Form confirming that you accept RCAHMW’s Library and Search Room Rules. Please note that food and drink of any kind are not permitted in the Library and Search Room. Only pencils may be used in the Library and Search Room. Please ensure that mobile phones are either turned off or switched to ‘silent’ mode.
